This church used to send out peoples prayers, now it sends and receives radio signals. One of the must see’s of Vilnius.
Snaking inside it are hundreds of meters of wires, originating in an array of buzzing high-tech boxes cramped up inside the tower and protruding outside in the form of antennae.
The place has this cool cyber-gothic feel to it.
Besides the communication equipment the interior is barren. In soviet era the church was converted into a warehouse. After the independence it was given back to the religious institution, but was never used according to it s purpose.
To me the late baroque architecture here is beautiful. Though I feel thankful for being able to explore this building so intimately, but its a shame to see it crumbling before my eyes.
